VSR at Smart Rail Connectivity Campus Event

In August 2018, our VSR team member Valentin Siegert participated in a Smart Rail Connectivity Campus workshop, held in the TU Chemnitz project facility METEOR.

Focusing our expertise in security aspects of intelligent and collaborative systems, we got actively involved in a panel discussion on secure information exchange in the Data Economy regarding operational conepts of autonomous train traffic. Thereby the group achieved several concepts for possible future projects at the Smart Rail Connectivity Campus.

In June 2018, Prof. Martin Gaedke and our VSR staff members Michael Krug, André Langer and Valentin Siegert successfully presented our final results in the closing event of our Linked Enterprise Data Services Project in Leipzig.

Our project partners and we are very happy with the achieved project findings on Data Quality and Knowledge Extraction, and we are looking forward to thereby supporting interested innovative industrial customers in the future.

This year, Prof. Martin Gaedke, Sebastian Heil, André Langer, Mahda Noura, Bahareh Zarei, Maxim Bakaev and Valentin Siegert visited the 18th International Conference on Web Engineering in Cáceres, Spain.

We presented our contributions about our latest findings and research results on Web Migration, Data Quality, End-User Development and Web of Things, and received positive and valuable feedback on our work.

At the end of September, the INFORMATIK 2017 conference took place at Chemnitz, University of Technology, a congress organized by members of the TUC and VSR for the German Informatics Society (GI).

On September 28, 2017, our team members André and Michael presented their current work on Utilizing Linked Data Structures for Social-aware Search applications at the LEDSPLaY17 workshop of the INFORMATIK 2017 conference in Chemnitz.

The results are part of our activities within the LEDS project.

Our VSR team actively engages in an industrial growth core project funded by the BMBF that is related to new and innovative Linked Enterprise Dats Services (LEDS). 

Prof. Gaedke recently gave an interview on up-coming challenges for industrial companies in the management and assessment of Data Quality.

On Thursday, 4th of August 2016, Max Speicher successfully defended his PhD thesis "Search Interaction Optimization: A Human-Centered Design Approach". His supervisors Prof. Dr.-Ing. This year Prof. Martin Gaedke, Sebastian Heil, Anna Scholtz, Alexey Tschudnowsky, and Fabian Wiedemann visited the 15th International Conference on Web Engineering in Rotterdam, Netherlands. We presented our contributions about our latest findings and research results on Team-Climate-Aware Collaboration, Project Management in the Crowd, End-User Development with User Interface Mashups, Scope-Aware Delegation using WebID, and Secure Storing in the Cloud.
