We are happy to announce that Ms Aprajita Kain will support VSR in providing excellent education in the field of Web Engineering. She will serve as Digital Student Mentor especially for students in the Web Engineering Master program, being the primary student-level contact and helping you with any questions/problems/aspects of studying Web Engineering digitally. 

Please be invited to join the weekly Digital Student Mentoring consultation sessions every Friday from 3 to 4 pm via BBB (https://webroom.hrz.tu-chemnitz.de/gl/apr-5mp-xet-hkd) if you need help or wish to discuss study-related topics with your new student mentor. The Digital Student Mentoring is an additional offering to support students in the context of online education. Former: Social Media & Web Science/Architecture of Distributed Systems
Social media and social networks in the sense of cross-border networks change our perception of communication structures and induce social, economic and political changes. The module explores the basic aspects of social networks and social media as well as web science. Architectural aspects, system theory and emergence-related phenomena such as self-organisation will be covered.

Nowadays, almost everyone uses mobile devices such as laptops, tablet PCs or cell phones. Some of these have design objectives (e.g. minimal energy consumption) and characteristics (e.g. touch screen) that differ from those of classic computers.The lecture explores these devices and their structure, organization and function.

In the Forschungspraktikum module participants study literature on current research-relevant topics and devise a solution to one concrete problem statement.
