Recording of VSR educational sessions
In light of recent events, we hereby inform all our course participants to not record any presented content in our VSR lectures, tutorials, seminars, defenses or individual meetings without prior permission; neither as an audio or video recording.

Tutorials finished & exam preparation
Pay attention, that there will not be any other tutorial for EVS, SSE and XML in the last week of January between 01/30/2019 and 02/01/2019, as we have already finished the intended topics.
A Q&A consultation will be offered additionally in a central and facultative fashion. Time and place of the consultation sessions will be announced separately via OPAL.

Planspiel pitches
All Planspiel teams will have to present their current work state on
Monday, 21 January 2019 at 17:00 in room 1/204
and on
Wednesday, 23 January 2019 at 11:30 in room 1/305.
The presentation time per team is limited to 10 minutes sharp.
A
beamer together with a VGA/HDMI cable is available.
The order of the pitches is
not known in advance.
The final pitch will then take place on 5
March and 6 March 2019 in a full-day fashion from 9:00 - 17:00 in room 1/305.
Your team will have 30 minutes for presenting your final business, followed by a 10
minutes Q&A session. All team members are expected to attend both days in full
length.
We are looking forward to seeing excellent presentations.

Starting again in 2019, we offer all our VSR students the great opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences in our LAKS meetings.

- like to work with other students in an informal, exciting way
- have questions and answers on study related topics that you want to exchange with others
- ask for feedback on an upcoming project or presentation.

Upload Seminar reports until 10th of January
This is a brief reminder for all participants of the Seminar Web Engineering to upload the initial version of their report until 10th of January 2019 23:59 CET via our Seminar Workflow system.
Educational course schedule for January 2019
The educational program on our VSR professorship will continue in the second week on 7th January 2019.
On Tuesday, 8th January, the lectures SSE and Current Trends in Web Engineering will be conducted regularly. The lecture EVS will not take place and is postponed to the folllowing week. The time slot for the XML lecture will be used for the XML tutorial in room 1/219.
The tutorials between 9th January and 11th January will not take place and are postponed to the following week.
The Planspiel Web Engineering sessions can be used by the groups for individual team-work activities.
In the third week of January, all lectures (except Current Trends in Web Engineering) and all tutorials will be conducted regularly. The lecture Current Trends in Web Engineering will be continued in the week after on 22nd January 2019.
Best Paper Award for Maik Benndorf
We are pleased to announce, that our researcher Maik Benndorf won the Best Paper Award at the 7th International Conference on Network, Communication and Computing (ICNCC 2018) in Taipei, Taiwan. Congratulations to all authors.
VSR at ICT2018 in Vienna
In December 2018, our VSR research group participated in the ICT 2018: Imagine Digital - Connect Europe event of the European Commission, taking place in the Vienna International Center in Austria.
Regarding our H2020 activities, we had valuable sessions to exchange ideas and make new contacts.

SSE, XML, Planspiel and CTWE postponed to the following week
The lectures for SSE, XML, Planspiel and Current Trends in Web Engineering will not be conducted this week and are going to be postponed to the following week. Also the corresponding tutorials will not take place and will be continued in the week after.
The lecture for EVS is going to be conducted regularly.
