Defence of the master thesis
On Wednesday, October 19th, at 14:00, one of our students will defend his master thesis 'Hybrid SaaS/Distributed Desktop Applications' in room 1/336.
VSR at Developer Open Space 2016
Recently, our team member André Langer visited the annual Dev Open Space in Leipzig from 10/14/2016 to 10/16/2016 and gained lots of new experience for our team regarding ECMAScript2016 and current trends in IoT.
We also hosted two own sessions related to Soft Skill Development for Developers and IT professionals such as Smart Presentation Techniques.
C.G., H.B. and M.R. started working on project "Bismuth"
We are glad to announce that three of our students started working on project "Bismuth - Web-based ISO/OSI packaging simulator". We look forward to their contributions.

VSR Lectures regularly start this week
This is to kindly remind you that all lectures of our professorship regulary start this week on 10/11/2016 and 10/12/2016, also including the Planspiel Opening Event.
All tutorials will start later in a few weeks. We will inform you early enough in the lecture and on our website.

Participation in INFORMATIK 2016 in Klagenfurt
Prof. Martin Gaedke and our team member Markus Ast attended the INFORMATIK 2016 in Klagenfurt / Austria, the 47th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI).
Among other things, Markus presented in a workshop our ideas on Value-Sensitive Design in Hyper-Connected Societies.

VSR members visit SEMANTiCS 2016
Michael Krug and André Langer recently visited the SEMANTiCS in Leipzig, an international conference on Semantic Systems and Linked Data Management.
Our professorship contributed a paper and a poster to the research community. Michael presented our current work on Knowledge Extraction from Heterogeneous Semi-Structured Data Sources. The poster contained our idea on Reputation-Aware Expert Finding with Linked Open Data.

Good Data Quality has a direct impact on Business success
Our VSR team actively engages in an industrial growth core project funded by the BMBF that is related to new and innovative Linked Enterprise Dats Services (LEDS).
Prof. Gaedke recently gave an interview on up-coming challenges for industrial companies in the management and assessment of Data Quality.
