Description

Until the wider use of Large Language models (LLMs), chatbots were often used in pop-up windows for customer services. Since ChatGPT was introduced, the usage of chatbots also includes interfaces, where the chatbot interface encompasses nearly the whole screen.

The master thesis aims to analyse the distribution of chatbot interface types and a comparison between these two types of chatbot interfaces in the terms of user engagement. This includes a study on related work about currently used chatbot interfaces, typical interaction elements and user engagement in chatbots and extracted requirements related to the solution. The solution should be an implementation of two different prototypical chatbot interfaces for one use case which both include the same functionalities. An evaluation should include the feasibility of both implementations and user testing dependent on the user engagement for both chatbot interfaces.
