Abstract

Correct input data is a crucial factor for the success of data management systems. For Semantic Web – based services such as building knowledge graphs from user input data, this aspect is even more important as it involves the collection of fine-grained entity URIs in the web frontend without annoying the user. But appropriate user interfaces for this task are still a challenge. In this paper, we therefore investigate requirements on URI-aware input data user interfaces from a semantic point of view. We first run a brief current-state analysis on web submission forms of existing data collectors from the research domain, discuss how those user interfaces can be improved for concept input purposes with an auto-suggestion behavior and finally evaluate the advantages and acceptance of our demo components in a user survey.
