Best Paper Award at TPDL 2026 for ReproScore

Our team member Dr. Sheeba Samuel presented the paper “ReproScore: Separating Readiness from Outcome in Research Software Reproducibility Assessment” at the 30th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL 2026) in Faro, Portugal. We are delighted to share that the paper received the Best Paper Award at the conference.
TPDL 2026 took place from 22–25 September 2026 and brought together researchers and practitioners working on digital libraries, scholarly communication, FAIR data and software, reproducibility, provenance, information retrieval, and AI.
ReproScore addresses the challenge of assessing the reproducibility of computational research software. The work distinguishes between reproducibility readiness (the extent to which software and its associated resources are prepared for reuse and reproduction) and the reproducibility outcome (observed when the software is actually executed). This separation enables a more nuanced assessment of reproducibility and helps identify different factors that contribute to successful or unsuccessful reproduction.
The slides of the talk are available on Zenodo. Congratulations to all authors on this achievement!
