Advisers

In an academic context, Researcher Expertise is the embodiment of the knowledge and skills of a researcher. There are many different information data sources that can be used to identify the researcher’s expertise, such as publication metadata, university bibliography metadata, curriculum vitae, community-driven user surveys, research project details, and so on.

The objective of this master thesis is to develop an approach or a combination of approaches to automatically recognize expertise information of a researcher from variant and large data sources. This particularly includes the state of the art regarding data discovery and data mining. The demonstration of feasibility with an implementation prototype of the concept is part of this thesis as well as a suitable evaluation with exemplary use cases.
