Javascript widgets are used to embed Web application functionality into third-party applications. By applying different techniques to overcome Same-Origin-Policy (SOP), they represent fully functional browser applications, which can be customized and reused. Some successful example of Javascript widgets are Twitter timelines, Facebook walls or Facebook comment boxes.

The project should analyze the nature and technologies involved into development and execution of Javascript widgets. Different techniques including recent WebComponents specification should be analyzed. Finally a prototype to create, embed and customize widgets based on a simple CRUD-oriented RESTful service should be implemented.
