Advisers

Wikidata offers an extensive repository with vast amounts of information from numerous domains, including academic resources, in a structured format. However, these resources remain underutilized because accessing them requires technical expertise of the SPARQL query language.  The complexity of current user interfaces represents a significant barrier for users, limiting their ability to explore and interact with the data effectively. To address this gap, this thesis explores the development of a domain-specific, no-code visual query builder tailored for accessing academic resources within Wikidata.

The objective of this thesis is to develop a domain-specific, no-code visual query builder tailored for academic resources within Wikidata.  The project will begin with a comprehensive requirements analysis and to review the state-of-the-art query builders with a particular focus on the Semantic Web domain. Existing solutions will be classified and evaluated based on the identified requirements.  Finally, a visual query builder has to be conceptualized, implemented and assessed in a suitable evaluation.
