Supporting Teams with Collaborative Goal Management
Managing goals is about setting and tracking progress of objects or aims of an ambition or effort. We follow goals every day, even when not purposely managed. Since our brains love rewards, accomplishing a goal is a tremendous motivation boost. But more importantly, marshaling resources towards achieving our goals supports in achieving actual success. This applies to both personal and team goals. But especially working towards goals in a team, requires a shared understanding of these goals and an organized process of collaborating on them. This thesis will therefore elaborate an approach that supports teams with collaborative goal management and thereby helps to focus resources on important activities. The applicability of this approach is demonstrated with a corresponding prototypical implementation.
