Description

The outsourcing of data in the cloud is growing continuously for years. Since the year 2011 cloud service providers reported a steady growth and increase sales. This trend is associated with the appearance that many users use multiple devices, including smartphones, for their daily use. The advantages that are achieved by the use of the cloud for private users as well as for companies are numerous. But currently are moving aspects such as security and integrity of data more and more in the focus of the user.

The objective of this work is to apply an order-preserving encryption scheme to a relational database, such as Microsoft SQL, to allow querying tuples by typical SQL-expression, like greater than or lesser than.
