The core of the project “Colorado” is the combination of two specifications: UDDI and WAM. On one hand, the Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) project is an industry-wide project and initiative that provides open and standard specifications for key Web service ecosystem activities: describing services, discovering businesses and services, incorporating services into Web service solutions, creating and deploying an XML-based registry. On the other hand, the WebComposition Architecture Model, WAM, is a model developed at the MRWG intended to cover the most vital aspects of federated systems: controlling accesses by external users from cooperating organizations, while preserving the autonomy of the individual federation partners over their resources. In this context, we want to study the possible combined use of WAM together with a standard UDDI interface. Thus, the main idea of the Colorado project is to develop a central registry in a form of a web service which will process standard UDDI requests and will interact with WAM data.
